who we are :: Steven V. Mitchell, Music Director

Steven V. Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Houghton College, NY, a Master of Music in Piano Performance and Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX.

For six years, Steven was staff pianist for Boston Ballet Center, where he accompanied the dance classes and performed with the company before moving to New York City. He now accompanies ballet classes at Ballet Academy East, American Ballet Theatre, Broadway Dance Center, and National Dance Institute. He was class pianist for the Columbia Pictures film "Center Stage". Steven has worked for the Balanchine Foundation for their video archives project.

Steven has accompanied ballet classes and taught music for dance teachers in workshops throughout the United States, and in Venezuela, Mexico, Norway, and The Netherlands.
